With an illustration BA in his pocket, Olly set up an animation business with co-director Paul Smith straight after college, specializing in plasticine animation.
He went on to direct commercials with Aardman Animations for several years, before joining Passion Pictures, where he first began working in CGI, making adverts and pop promos among other things.
He then went freelance for several years creating animations in a wild variety of styles and tones for clients like  E4, Aardman and the Imaginarium.

In 2016 he became a staff director for Axis Studios, co-directing their first movie, directing game trailers, and creating their first VR short - The Bond.
